The National Student Scientific Writing Competition (KATULISTIWA) is one of the activities organized by Lingkar Studi Mahasiswa Ekonomi and Bisnis (LSME) of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Backed by the responsiveness of the integration of national development with the development in the field of education which is expected to realize the human resources that can compete in knowledge, skill and skill, and in the application of one of the content of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, Lingkar Studi Mahasiswa Ekonomi dan Bisnis ) contributed by providing a competitive and conducive forum as a means for students’ self-development to improve their motivation and scientific insight by organizing the National Student Scientific Writing Competition (KATULISTIWA) which is the annual agenda of the Student Economic and Business Student Circle (LSME) .
KATULISTIWA which this year has entered the tenth year again provides a forum for students to channel their aspirations through scientific papers which will then be presented by presenting breakthroughs and solving planned problems on current issues. Executor KATULISTIWA 10 is a new member of LSME Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Brawijaya which is the executing committee and assisted by LSME member of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Brawijaya other. With the theme “Optimalization of National Development in the Era of Global Competition in the Framework of Realizing Indonesia Mandiri 2025”, KATULISTIWA 10 invites all students in Indonesia to compete to develop innovative ideas to address current issues through appropriate solutions and responsiveness in problem solving so students will be more sensitive to the environment.
The series of KATULISTIWA 10 events were conducted gradually starting the abstract selection process on December 7, 2017 – February 8, 2018 and have resulted in 150 abstract eligible teams who are entitled to proceed to the full paper stage. Participants who pass the abstract are given time to complete and collect the full paper work from February 16, 2018 – March 15, 2018. Full paper selection is conducted by a competent and reliable jury in the field. After going through the selection stage, the top 15 teams have the opportunity to follow the next series of activities on 19-22 April 2018 in Universitas Brawijaya Malang. On the first day (19/4/2018), the participants will arrive in Brawijaya University Malang to register and technical meeting which is held at Hotel Everyday Malang to know the technical explanation of the event and the determination of the serial number of the presentation. Then on the second day (20/4/2018) in the same place, will be followed by a presentation and gala dinner by 15 teams. Each team is given 30 minutes for presentations that include preparatory sessions, presentations, and frequently asked questions. While the gala dinner will be held at night. On the third day (21/4/2017), the participants will carry out field trip to East Java Park 1, besides the participants are also given the opportunity to shop at the center of the souvenir of Malang. On the last day (22/4/2018) will be held a national seminar which presents practitioners on this day also performed event closing as a sign that KATULISTIWA 9 has been completed.
Through this activity is expected to appear many ideas from Indonesian youth to contribute in development. Katulistiwa is an event that provides a place for students all over Indonesia to contribute scientific ideas and writing for the progress of the nation.
